Mirrors

Marcos and Ninoy were enemies because they can understand each other and read each others' minds. Essentially they are the same. Change only occurred in Ninoy when he was sent to jail and was excommunicated.

Bongbong Marcos is not Marcos the dictator, in the same way that Noynoy is not Ninoy.

---

Bongbong's election to the position of Senator did not come about through the infamy of his surname alone but also through merit. His achievements as Governor of Ilocos Norte were remarkeable.

Noynoy on the other hand banked on the adoration of the Filipino people for his deceased parents. He would need to achieve twice as much as them to be able to step out of their shadows and at the same time, he would need to be very careful as not to tarnish the legacy of the Aquino heroes.

Kapitan Sino, A Book Review

Finally! Months after the release its release, I was able to read Kapitan Sino. And I am more than satisfied.

Kapitan Sino (Captain Who) is a novel by phenomenal local writer Bob Ong. Just like Ang Alamat ng Gubat, Kapitan Sino is a parody of Philippine Society that emphasizes the importance of personal responsibility and discipline as avenues of national improvement. KS however, discussed the paradoxes of power as well which made it, in my opinion, more well-rounded than his two previous novels.

And it has a love story to boot! A first for Ong but judging from the way he wrote it, I would have never guessed it if he hadn't mentioned it on his site.

Written in Ong's signature conversational manner, KS is humorous and satirical, and since the protagonist is a super hero, you can expect action-packed scenes. Despite the funny nature of the book, KS shines forth with its drama, deep insights, and inspiring message.

I'd like to say more but I don't want to spoil it for you; you know what to do *winks*.
